Benefits of the lists and warnings regarding the limitations of sex offender registries are provided. Interviewed were Robert Panizari, Sergeant Supervisor of the Sex Offender Registry Unit of the Metropolitan Police Department and Stephanie Gray, Sex Offender Registry Specialist of the Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency.

Previously Incarcerated Persons (PIPS)–An Interview

Welcome to DC Public Safety-radio and television shows for the internet.

The Previously Incarcerated Persons (PIPs) program assists and advocates for offenders returning from prison. Minister Darnell Bradford El and the Rev. Dr. Yvonne Cooper are both coordinators of PIPs. They are also faith-based mentors. Both served time in prison. The program discusses reentry in D.C. and the nation.

Trip to China-What Works-Interview With Tom Williams

Welcome to DC Public Safety-radio and television shows for the Internet.

Associate Director Thomas H. Williams presented a paper on “What Works? Evidence Based Practices in Parole and Probation” in Shanghai, China in October of 2006. The offer was extended by the University of Maryland, Office of International and Executive Programs. Tom is responsible for the Community Supervision Services division of the Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency. He is the former Director of Parole and Probation for the State of Maryland.
