A new website lists and evaluates prisoner re-entry programs nationwide. Launched yesterday by the Urban Institute, the Council of State Governments, and the John Jay College of Criminal Justice Prisoner Reentry Institute, the “What Works Clearinghouse” can be seen at .

The National Reentry Resource Center is a project of the Bureau of Justice Assistance, Office of Justice Programs, US Department of Justice. The program interviews Sarah Kuck Jalbert, an Associate at Abt Associates and Michael Kane, Senior Associate, Crime and Justice Institute at Community Resources for Justice. The program discusses the effectiveness of lowering probation caseloads for medium to high risk offenders while adding Evidence-Based Practices. Results showed significantly lower rates of recidivism (when compared to a control group) for locations fully implementing Evidence-Based Practices.
