I like what you are doing in your state. I am a Social Worker/Addictions Professional. I currently work as a Clinical Supervisor and I am also pursuing further education in Mental Health at the Springfield College in Tampa, Florida. My desire to ultimately develop re-entry/transitional services for ex-offenders; a one stop shop. I live in Tallahasse, Florida and I need help with trying to implement something here that will be effective and worthwhile. I am not rich and I do not have money, but I have motivation and passion. I understand their struggles and the same way God blessed me, I want to see them be blessed.

Offender monitoring via GPS does have its limitations but the convenience and benefits of the technology seem to make it worthwhile, at least the governments of developed nations such as the U.S. and counterparts in Europe seem to think so.

However, there are some cases, in which it is not appropriate to use GPS monitoring, not because of any flaw in the technology but because of the nature of the crime committed and this is one area of our practices with regard to criminals that should be reviewed more carefully and with greater scrutiny, to ensure we are not compromising the security of the public who have a right to such protections.

Expect to see this technology utilized more. Cellphones, GPS, tracking, etc., were being explored for these types of applications long before we used the technology on consumer devices . Good to see this tech being put to such good, practical use.

While watching your broadcast, I found it very interesting that none of your guest really discuss the importance of employment and the economic disparities that often lead to a life of crime. We all know that you have to address mental health, substance abuse and the various facets of a persons life that contribute to criminality and hardship but without meaningful employment it becomes very hard for a individual to sustain themselves.
