The only way for ex-offenders to successfully integrate into society is by securing stable employment. I answer questions for ex-offenders and felons looking for jobs at my blog: http://howfelonscangetjobs.blogspot.com

Sadly, the thing to remember is that Bob will more than likely always desire to have as he did before much in the same way a chocolate lover will always desire chocolate.

This will be a lifelong process for Bob (saying no to his chocolate) as I’m very sure Eddie will agree.

The thing is, just because there may be temptation to eat that chocolate we know that the longer we refuse the craving lessens. The desire to have the chocolate may always be there BUT it is not anywhere near as powerful.

Bob, I have a daughter aged 3 and I would see red if anyone ever laid a finger on her, having said that I firmly believe you deserve another chance. You may even entertain the thought again but you know you just can’t have this chocolate mate.

Bob, I hope to see you mentoring one day because you can be a HUGE help and inspiration to others and perhaps make enough of a difference to save just one child, and wouldn’t that be something special?

Keep up the good work Eddie and Bob as you can be an inspiration to many.

P.S: Thank you for such a wonderful write up… a very good and hear felt read.

At first I was confused that I might not take Eddie's side. After listening to the podcast & reading the transcript, I found myself applauding Eddie & drawing inspiration from his personal story.

Keep fighting Eddie! A lot of respect for you here.

We actually hired a former offender to help our company code our latest website: http://www.legalcreditcardsettlement.com

He learned to write HTML in prison & we are now very fortunate to have him on our development team. Thank you for the inspiration!

These identity these are all over the world - and unfortunately this means many more victims are reasdy to ebe tken in. Perhaps going back to cash - at least for those small amounts, is an answer. One thing thoug as soon as a loop whole is close, anotherone will be found.
As Evelyne (above) said - education and information.

There should definitely be gender specific differences in programs for rehabilitation, most specifically pre-release.

The majority of women involved in crime are primarily "secondary offenders", they usually have male partners who are the "primaries", in other words the women are not usually the instigators nor the planners.

Pre-release career training and lifestyle eductation can be life altering for these women!

Thanks for this post, its reassuring to know that there are people trying to prevent us from fraud! I had a similar thing when I tried to sell a phone on ebay and someone from Nigeria bought it and wanted to pay by western union. Alarm bells were ringing so googled the persons name and address and found lots of people who had been scammed by them in the manner you described above. So if in doubt try a google search first!

Hi,

I was wondering if D.C. currently imposes any time of residency restrictions (or any other types of restrictions) on registered sex offenders who are currently living in the state?

Thank you.

I recognize the truth in what Valerie Collins says in the broadcast transcript, above.

"And so they have to understand about what it is to be in a relationship and a healthy relationship."

This doesn't just apply to domestic and interpersonal relationships. In fact I believe that until we learn , as a species, the importance of mutual respect in all of our relationships with others, we are in for a hard ride.
There should be an allowing of others to be different to us and have their own beliefs and values. The caveat with this is, of course that their beliefs and values will not harm us. In which case we have the right to defend ourselves.

There is however a clear distinction between defending our selves and pummeling the living daylights out of the other party.

At the end of the day it all comes down to our ability to communicate effectively.
There is so much more to be said and solved in this area and sometimes I despair about "civilization" as it is today.
We just have to keep going,

Originating Michigan mortgages for a living, I am always on the lookout for signs of identity theft. I have had clients who had been victims, and it was a nightmare for them to clear everything up.

I agree with Evelyne, it is sad that we can not live in a world where we can trust one another.
