<p>The program interviews Associate Professor William Bales of the Florida State University, College of Criminology and Criminal Justice and principal researcher for a new study on Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and electronic monitoring of criminal offenders. Joining Bill Bales is Carlton Butler, GPS Program Administrator for the Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency.</p>
<p>The Florida State University study of 5,000 offenders indicates a 31 percent reduction in rates of failure while under supervision including decreases in absconding, revocations and new criminal activity.   </p>

Matt discusses the conviction of a child sex offender who was found to possess thousands of photographs of children (many under the age of 12) engaged in acts of violence.</p>
