<p>The program features an interview with Deputy Secretary Paul Cook of the New Mexico Department of Public Safety and Capt. Gregory Toya of the Department of Public Safety/New Mexico State Police regarding a successful Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) program that reduced alcohol related deaths and accidents from third in the country to 17th. in the country. The effort involved the cooperation of correctional authorities.</p>

Poole discussing an innovative public safety initiative in which a panel of male and female offenders doing long sentences for DUI-Death Resulting crashes, along with a parent of a victim of such a crash, speak to student and parent groups in a prison visiting room about the devastating consequences of their choices.</p>
<p>Data generated from the program state that nearly half of participating students said they were a passenger in a vehicle operated by someone who had been drinking.</p>
