It is really thought provoking on how to understand a situation such as this. It is correct to say that their is a greater chance of this offenders to go back to prison. Yet, I still believe in giving a chance but he difficult part is if this offenders would ever learn to deal with society knowing that they have been there.

Laws are their to be followed and i someone acts against it then that person should be prisoned. The government should find ways on how to solve such increasing number of criminals.

It's obvious you've never been to prison. Imagine-you have no control over your life: you get up when told, you get fed what someone else picks (calorie sufficient but no necessarily tasty, oh, and you never use a knife so you can imagine the quality of what passes for meat), you go to your room when told, you share space with people you don't know and may mean you harm, you have to watch your back ALWAYS, you're on constant vigilance so that you're not a victim of sexual assault, you don't see or talk to loved ones, you go to bed when told...imagine being in your room, which is way nicer than a cell, for years! The extent of your excursions is to the living room where you watch TV with, oh, maybe 50 other people (no remote control and certainly not cable) for a few hours a day and you get to go outside a couple of hours a day-to do what?

The loss of liberty itself is punishment. Without rehabilitation programs you have someone with no improvement going back to a community. How can you expect someone to make good decisions when bad decision making got them there, they make almost no decisions while there, and nothing has changed internally?

People in prison do deserve a second chance, as all of us do. Rather than forever convict them of crimes they have committed, people getting out of prison should also be helped. Nowadays, there are more convicted people getting back to prison because they commit another crime. This is because, these people have no life but discrimination, feared and untrusted by the society. That is why they turn to crime, again.

Agree with the comments here. Education and training play a big part on giving back to the society. Economy are bad and we need to strong system to ensure things are on track.

Agree on the education comment as well. Sending people back just because does not make sense. I am also for making the people work while in the system - cleaning up grafitti, picking up trash, etc - more giving back to the community instead of a free ride

I agree with the previous comment. They should be getting the training while in prison. Let them fend for themselves, like the rest of us, when they get out.

The prisons need a system to educate or rehabilitate them before releasing them back into society.
